French-Style Hotel

Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel is located in a Grade II listed Georgian building in Maldon. The property is just a 1-minute walk from the River Blackwater. All the individually styled rooms at Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel feature an en suite bathroom with free toiletries. A satellite LED TV is also included.

Sitting adjacent to the Le Bouchon Boutique Hotel is the beautiful 14 mile Chelmer and Blackwater navigation canal which opened in 1797 and flows from Springfield Basin in Chelmsford to the sea lock at Heybridge Basin near Maldon.

Guests can enjoy a relaxing walk on the riverbank, take a riverboat cruise and sample some of the local ales from one of the many riverside public houses or hire a canoe or small boat and take in the peace and tranquility of the natural surroundings of the Beeleigh weir and the many locks along the channel.

Boat Trips

Le Bouchon is pleased to offer a round trip aboard our Le Bouchon river cruise boat. The trip runs to either the Heybridge Basin or Beeleigh weir and back exclusively for customers of our hotel and brasserie between 7th April and 31st October.

These trips are perfect for a post-lunch or pre-dinner excursion. Take in the lush green canal scenery and wildlife.
The boat trips embark from the hotel’s private mooring adjacent from our car park.

Boat trips are available Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm and last approximately 60 minutes.
