July Gardening Tips

Summer is here and July can be one of the hottest months of the year.
Regular watering of hanging baskets and containers , deadhead and feed regularly to prolong flowering. We have a selection of hanging baskets available for summer colour.
Check Clematis for Clematis wilt make sure the roots are kept cool with pebbles or gravels.
Pick Courgettes ,Tomatoes, and peppers feed regularly with Tomorite see in store for special prices.
Give lawns a quick acting soluble feed e.g. Miracle gro Lawn Feed.
Cut back Delphiniums and Lupins to encourage new growth and a second late flowering.
Divide Bearded Iris.

Deadhead Dahlias and stake well.
Apply ornamental bark to the borders to conserve moisture.

Apply insecticides to your plants to control aphids e.g. Greenfly and Blackfly.
